The cheapest imported CO₂ pistol listed by Indian importers is the Gamo PR 725 at ₹45,000, which is 76% more expensive and was out of stock at the time of writing. Note the distinction: there are ₹1,500–₹2,500 "air pistols" on Indian marketplaces, but those are spring-piston single-shot pistols, not CO₂ semi-automatics, and most are unbranded with no warranty or spare parts. Why are imported CO₂ pistols so expensive in India?

Three multipliers stack up. The pistol leaves Germany or the USA at roughly €80–€150 (₹7,500–₹14,000). Indian customs treats air guns under a restricted-import classification, adding roughly 42% in duty plus clearing costs. Then the importer has to carry inventory that turns over slowly, insure a restricted item, and absorb the risk of a shipment being held — so the retail margin on a slow-moving air pistol is much wider than on ordinary goods.
